I was skimming through my reader this morning my lovelies when I saw today’s daily post asking for a poem or song lyric that I know from heart and immediately one of my all-time favorite poems came to mind. Dismissing all the song lyrics that followed it š I knew I wanted to post the poem because I’ve loved it since high school and the imagery in it always makes me sigh. It’sĀ evocative, beautiful, and deceptively simple…
NothingĀ Gold Can Stay
Natureās first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafās a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Written by Robert Frost.
